These are all great choices (and some I have not read) but I fear that Dickens is a difficult stretch for modern teens accustomed to substituting emoji and acronym instead of descriptive prose. And Dickens is all about Victorian description. Of course they should read it. Certainly it would be impossible for most teens’ voluntary reading. I believe if a family read David Copperfield aloud to each other every night, it would be well received.
