You always share such beautiful ideas that had never occurred to me. In this case, it was the satisfaction! brought by working with and saving the bounty of the land to provide sustenance for your family. Thank you.

I love all the points that this article brings out! Some of my best memories are from when I was a small child and, not being able to sleep, I’d hear my dad come home from a night shift and start a fire in our wood burner. Then I would creep downstairs and instead of sending me back to bed, he’d make me a cup of tea on the stove and let me fall asleep next to him. I think it’s impossible to grow up with a wood stove and not be deeply impacted. You’re so right in showing that it’s a ritual that modernization can never replace and that connects us to people around us and past generations. Thanks Walker!
