I'd add two more suggestions to this lovely list:

Memorizing recipes exercises memory's applications in time, ratio, and creativity. And memorizing dance combines music, lyrics, rhythm, and also kinesthetic awareness.

I really appreciate this article. I have been feeling a bit anxious about my lack of memorization ability as I see intellectual work being outsourced to artificial intelligence. I fear if people do not exercise their memory, they will lose it in the same way one loses the abilities to do mental math after they start using a calculator on a regular basis.
